Unreal range from a tiny box

I just picked up this sub a few weeks ago and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I am currently running def tech BP6 tower speakers, C/L/R 2002 center, and promonitor 800 rear speakers on a Denon AVR-1612 5.1. The supercube 4000 completely fills in the mid and low range even at half power.I tested the def tech pro sub 60, pro sub 800, pro sub 1000, and the supercube 2000. I was really impressed with the pro sub 1000 and SC 2000. Furthermore, the PS 1000 hit harder and the SC 2000 was much fuller. I wanted the best of both worlds and blindly (or deafly) ordered the SC 4000 based on the specs.As soon as it arrived I was surprised how small it was. It is also very heavy and quality made. My favorite feature has got to be the remote. I listen to a wide range of music and it's great to be able to fine tune everything from where I'm sitting. This sub is small and elegant so it blends into the room and does its job well.This sub it no different than any other in terms of placement. You still have to move it around your room until you find the sweet spot. Once you find that sweet spot look out, this thing hits hard. I'm still in awe a box this small can shake my whole house. It literally feels like it will pound through the floor and I haven't even taken it over half power. Of course this was under testing purposes and I tend to listen to extremely bass heavy music. Under normal conditions it can blend seamlessly with the rest of your system.I would give the supercube 4000 ten stars if I could. It is center piece of my home theater. If the price seems too much let me tell you it's well worth it however if I were on a budget I'd go for the prosub 1000. The supercube 2000 tries to do what the 4000 does but falls short. There is also a supercube 6000 which I can only assume is for listening to bass while you're out of state.So all-in-all from my long winded review, this is not just s subwoofer it's an investment.***UPDATE***So I've been living with this sub for about 9 months now. Some things have changed in my setup. I was using it upstairs while I finished my basement, the basement is done and my home theater is there in a 800 sq. ft. room. My receiver changed to a harman kardon avr 1565. This receiver is more fuller and bass dominate so the power is turned way down on both the sub and receiver. I seriously prefer my setup to some movie theaters. It's very impressive. No issues to report at all. The sub does not cut out and there is no chance for overheating since I barley use what it's capable of. All I can say is this is my favorite toy and I enjoy showing it off. If you're considering it, I can't recommend it enough.

I love audio equipment but like many audio fanatics I am on a budget. I work for the countries major electronic store so I get all audio equipment for half price, not including bose but i dont care because bose is a pice of crap anyway. Even at half price it was a strech for me to buy this, I actually left the store thinking i made a mistake purchasing a sub for what to me is alot of money for something i dont need. So I arrived home and I removed my cheap sub wich was only about six months old but i was not satisfied by its performance. I installed this brand new SC 4000 and played a song. I was speechless, i could not belive how my entire system sounded with this new sub. It almost made me tier I was so exited, happy and glad I got it. I isntantly forgot how bad i felt for having spent the money on it and frankly after using it all day I can honestly say I would actually pay the full price for this supercube 4000. With this sub my speakers are no longer being held back by lack of base and my system sounds completely different, and i can ajust on the fly when i change music genre with the remote control. Volume goes from 0 to 40 and you can turn the display off and if you ajust the volume while the display is off it will come on to show you the volume level and then go off after about 3 seconds, that i find to be a cool feature at night because the numbers wont distract you while watching a movie. Absolutely high quality attention to detail was is outstanding and it comes with two set of screw on mini cleets to raise it from the ground. One set for hard floor with rubber pads so it does not damage the floor and so that it wont move with vabration. The other set for carpeting that actually dring them selves into,the carpet so it wont move at all. The screen mesh that covers it is removabel so it can be washed if it gets dirty or dusty. Over all I love my new sub and I would buy it atfull price if i had to. Are there better subs out ther? Not really it would have to be a Mammoth of a box to produce the frequencies that this little box can do. It will make your house tremble. O one big suggestion, do get a good good good power center for your other electronics because one thing about this baby it sucks alot of power and will make your lights dim when it hits when the sub volume is high so it will generate electrical noise that will eventually cause damage to your tv if you dont have a power center that filters that out. Outstanding.

I currently run a Yamaha RXa700, great receiver for the price and I have all polk audio in a 7.1 configuration, when I started to look for powered subwoofers, i thought I wanted something that was large and imposing, what i ended up with is something small and stealthy, took me a week to tweak this little sub in size ,but Large in sound, this is a dream for my system blends in so well, just when I thought a bass note shook me enough another one comes along in a different movie and then it blows me away again, the top volume of the sub is 40 I have this little magic box set on 15, trust me thats enough, If I feel a little brave I might hit it up at 20, and the remote that comes with it is very handy,so if you are a true couch potato then you are in heaven,remember movie volume is less than music volume,put this cube in a corner makes better bass, great value for this unit, at $799.00, they could charge $1500.00 I would still buy it because its worth more, thanks Def Tech for making a GREAT ITEM..
