Hardware does about what you'd expect but is still lacking

The product is, technically, exactly as you would expect and exactly as it is described. It shows up on your phone as a television device. Part of the product advertising includes a phone app that allows you to show what's on the web, a bunch of images, images from the camera, and pdf files.The software app does not work. At all. Without this app, the projector pretty much useless.But let's review the features of this app...PDF files: There is only one way that I have found to sync pdf files within itunes. It ends up going somewhere, I know not where. The point is that the projector doesn't find it. Feature = uselessDisplay images: This is the entire reason I made this purchase. I use projected images in my artwork (both in painting and photography). I need something that is portable. Since this device shows up as a television device, you can do a slideshow of your images (3 seconds to 20 seconds) but nothing more. Hardly useful for painting unless you fill your phone up with 50+ of the same image. The display images feature of the software does not work and has KNOWN problems that others are complaining about.Images from the camera. Freaking really? It makes me so excited that I can project an image of the ceiling or floor onto the wall. This is about as useless as a football bat. It does, however, have the virtue of working, unlike the images and pdf display.Surf the web... meh. It works. It's kinda sucky because it's a homebrew style browser with stuff that gets in your way but it works.I know what you're thinking... you could buy the product and get support from the seller or the software company. WRONG. I gave a neutral but critical review of the product and the seller admonished me like I was a child and then went away on religious holiday in the middle of support just leaving me hanging. The software dev company.... is freaking chinese. That's right, go to the support site for the software and you get a bunch of Chinese thrown at you. Good luck with that.Don't waste your money or time.

Great Product

The projector works just as described, with instant plug-and-play setup.Although the display is VGA resolution, it's actually quite clear even when projected to 70" image size. You have to be in a fairly dark room though as the projection is at 15 ANSI lumens. The device itself is very small and compact, perfect for trips abroad where you want to share photographs or videos to your family/friends. With the new app "projout" you can even mirror the app display and project a PDF presentation or photos. (for unsupported devices, there are jailbreak methods to do this)A novel use for this, as I'm sure some have tried, is to project images on the ceiling and watch them in bed. I found this quite fun.Overall, a good product at a reasonable price. Perfect gift for gadget enthusiasts.

I honestly did not even know something like this existed before, and I couldn't be happier that I found it. I travel frequently, so I was hoping I could use this to play Netflix or iTunes movies on my hotel room wall, and it far exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind no adaptors needed for this projector for your iPhone4 or 4S, it slides into the cradle perfectly, so you don't need to buy one. This thing is ready to go out of the box, very easy to use, truly a plug-and-play device. As soon as it gets video information from your source device, it displays it. Great buy.
