Product Description
Add the Polk FXi A4 surround speakers to your home theater system and enjoy dramatic rear-channel sound effects with your favorite movies. These cleverly designed speakers feature two tweeters aimed 45-degree from each other, for an ideal mix of direct and indirect sound. A dipole/bipole switch lets you position the FXi A4s on the rear or side walls of your home theater room ¿ you'll get great results either way. If you place them behind your listening position, set them to bipole mode for distinct, directional sound. Or set them to dipole mode for side placement, and they'll create a more diffuse soundfield for convincing wraparound effects. Polk carefully designed the drivers using laser testing to help identify and eliminate resonance points. The acoustically inert MDF cabinets fight internal vibrations that can compromise performance. It all adds up to enveloping surround sound that fully immerses you in the movie action.

Nice Speakers

Surround speakers have been the part of my HT that I have neglected for the longest. I've upgraded fronts, center, sub, AVR, etc. but I've had true surround speakers. I've been tempted several times, but never pulled the trigger. Although they are not a match to the rest of my speakers (Polk LSi's), I am very happy with them. Surround effects are detailed and realistic. I also like to listen to concert DVD's and I'm very happy with the performance of these speakers with music. Purchase from Amazon was smooth and quick. Ordered on a Tuesday night close to midnight and received them on Thursday.

The speaker can be changed from bi-pole to di-pole with a simple flip of a switch. Makes it a perfect choice for music and HT. I like to hear sharp tones from my music and diffused sounds for HT. It is perfectly matched for RTI ranges, you can get away with monitor/ts series speakers too. Same driver and tweeter that is been used in other RTI series. It doesnt go very deep as there is only driver and two tweeters. I wish they had included one more driver and provided a option to use it for 7.1 like infinity speakers. But what you get is amazing. Small package and works like a charm. The white color can get dirty very fast. The paint also seem to chip. This is a speaker from polk, they mainly concentrate on the sound and not the looks.The tweeter has very good off axis range than other RTI range speakers. That makes placing the speakers very easy. You dont have to strictly line up for hearing. Dont place directly on wood or carpet other than that any thing should work. If you have nice sand or pellet filled stands you wont hear any resonance. Also make sure to balance your setup, the rated 88db is very optimistic. I need to increase the level by 1 db to get the right balance.

I just upgraded my OWM3's to the FXi A4 surrounds. These speakers produce so much more sound and in dipole mode really envelope you with accurate, detailed sound effects. They are big, but provide a wide variety of placement options with dual modes to suit your listening preferences. Together with the TSI400 towers, CS10, and SVS PC12-NSD my audio enjoyment during music and movies is through the roof. Polk makes some of the best sounding speakers in this price range, very natural and precise.
