Product Description
The HT-S6500 is a feature-packed system that's simple to install and operate. Connect a LAN cable-or optional Wireless LAN adapter-to access music on any PC connected to the network. Internet radio and music streaming from Spotify and MP3tunes are all a few button presses away, with audio delivered through the receiver's WRAT amplifier and quality two-way speakers. A frontside USB port, meanwhile, connects your iPod, iPhone, or music-filled flash-memory device. A total of seven HDMI ports integrate all your high-definition components, and enable Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, 3D video, and an ARC for TV audio through the home theater. You can also switch HDMI inputs easily, with InstaPrevue technology providing video thumbnails of available content instead of just a port number. The user-friendly GUI has overlaid setup menus for fast in-program adjustment, and you can control the system using an iPod touch/iPhone or Android phone. Calibrated by Audyssey's 2EQ room acoustic correction system, the gloss-finished speakers deliver clear, well-balanced sound, while the active subwoofer adds powerful low-frequency impact. Great System

So far the system has been great! Tons of features and sound quality has been outstanding. The built in streaming tools are a little so-so in the interface and wish they did not even bother. A nicer GUI would have been appreciated. It's ok though, my Samsung TV does it all so i dont use the Onkyo version anyway.

Great System!!!

The HT-S6500 sounds great and I was able to pick it up for more than half off around Christmas. The HT-S6500 is the newer version of the discontinued HT-S7409. The on screen display is not as detailed/nice looking as my 7409 unit but still easy enough to use. There is also not as many system settings with the 6500 as the 7409. To be honest I dont really use most of the 7409 settings anyway. All in all this system rocks and is well worth every penny. Very clear sound for movies, music, PS3, etc... Playing PS3 using this system is incredible. You feel truly feel like you are in the game! The sub rocks the house! I am not disappointed in my purchase, especially for the price I was able to snag it at. This is my 3rd Onkyo system and once again they did it right. You will not be disappointed!!!

Horrible buzzing sound

I had to return this item. I purchased it because I already had the hts-7409 from last year and love it in my upstairs, and I thought this would be comparable to put in the basement. As the other reviewer has already stated, the gui for the streaming stuff is pretty lackluster. The deal-breaker for me was when setting up the dynamic eq feature and using it, there was a horrible humming sound that could not be ignored. I returned it for replacement, and the secind item did the same thing when the dynamic eq was enabled. I finally returned the item and found another 7409 model for the basement. I love Onkyo's equipment normally, but it seems they need to do a recall on this item.
