4A lot of features and functions - good sound quality
By Joachim
We got the system a week earlier than initially projected - nice gift for Christmas to replace the underwhelming sound of the Sony DAV-IS50 system. Purchase decision was based on integrated feature set, Blue-Ray DVD, iPod docking, wireless speakers, InternetTV ready with wireless LAN. The initial installation took little more than 1/2h. The lack of at least one HDMI cable in the package was just an annoyance, since we had already the needed set of cables. This system has 2 HDMI inputs which turned out to be necessary when I realized that the Netflix function provided via the InternetTV mode does not include browsing the full Netflix Instant offerings but showed only my own Instant Queue. I still prefer the full search functionality of the ROKU box for streaming Netflix movies and gave up the built-in streaming feature. The provided iPod docking integration was another disappointment. I am used to hear music from my iPod library of >6K songs all the time and expected a simple enablement to get this going. What is provided however is a relatively cumbersome interface requiring multiple menu's to go through and have the TV on to set things up while I normally run my full library in shuffle mode. I ended up dusting off my old DLO HomeDock and connecting it to the AUX port. After updating my Harmony One universal handset I am back in business. The sound quality of this system is great and meets all expectations.

5Great features, great sound
By valenumr
I purchased this system because it was one of two systems that had all the features I wanted: Blu-Ray, 5.1 surround with wireless rear speakers, and at least two hdmi inputs. The other product is the Sony BDV-HZ970W, but when I looked at it at Best Buy, the speakers looked cheaply made, and it is much more expensive. The sound quality is very good for the price range, and setup was a breeze. There are only two things that I think could use improvement.First, you can only cycle through the inputs, rather than directly select the input (I only use the two HDMI inputs).Second, the AnyNet feature is sort of broken. Basically, I just turn it off because it causes more headaches than help. I think some of the complaints about the HDMI being flakey that others have posted are due to this fact. Essentially, the system messes with the input settings on my TV when I have AnyNet enabled, and it always reverts to the tuner when the receiver changes inputs. The only thing I have connected to my TV is this device via HDMI, so that means I always have to change my TV input when I change the receiver input. In anycase, simply disabling the AnyNet feature resolves that issue, and everything works like a charm.

2Nice Features....When They Work.
By Daleoos
Although it's packed with features, the operation of this Samsung product is unreliable and inconsistent. I returned it after 4 weeks. The included Wifi, wireless rear speakers and Blueray player lured me into buying this system. I used HDMI cables to connect a cable box, XBOX 360, and Panasonic flat screen TV to the Samsung receiver.Although I updated the software and firmware, I could not consistently get sound from the speakers when I switched the input sources; unless I turned the system off and on. Also, when using the cable source, I had the same problem when switching between HD and non-HD sources.I called Samsung a few times. However, the technical support, and "level 2" technical support was not helpful. They wanted me to mail ( at my own expense) the system to their support center. They estimated a 2-3 week turnaround time. After 4 weeks I returned the system to the store. This system packs to much technology into the receiver. I eventually purchased a Denon system that includes Boston Acoustics speakers, and a Panasonic BlueRay player. This combination of components is working great so far.Save yourself from a lot of frustration. Do not buy this system.
