Simply AMAZING Value

First off, I would like to say thanks to VMI for providing this free of charge for review.As my title states, it is a very budget minded product.As soon as you remove the speakers from the box, you get a good idea of the value of this speaker set. The subwoofer feels sturdy and the digital, feature packed display were definitely a surprise to me.The remote control was another nice addition as well as the PRO features that allowed the system to be switched from 2.1 to 5.1. That way, if I choose not to run the rear speakers, I can still enjoy the system.As far as the sound, I'll compare it to a Samsung sound bar that I purchased from Walmart ($350).The subwoofer packs WAY more punch than I expected. Is it the cleanest sounding sub? Of course not. Will it knock pictures off of your walls? Probably not. But, can you really complain about a powered 5.1 setup with a subwoofer with a built in EQ and separate speaker level controls that still has the ability to recreate, pretty well, the lower frequencies in your media? My only gripe is that you need a surround processor with pre outs to get the full 5.1 setup; and at which point, when you have something like that, will you really be looking at a $100 surround sound speaker setup?The speakers themselves are, once again, constructed very well and the included RCAs were also a plus in my eyes. The RCAs for the rear speakers were not long enough for my room but my room is sort of large. This would be perfect for smaller listening rooms or you could just extend the RCAs if needed. They provide a good amount of volume, distortion isn't really apparent until you really start pushing them.Overall, I say that you will not beat this setup for the money. Of course, there are some things I could find about the system that I do not like. But, for a 5.1 setup to compare, in sound, to $350 sound bar and sound just as good AND offer the advantages of true surround, it is something of a "diamond in the rough".Highly recommended for the budget minded listener.

The VM EXMS582 is a home audio system that comes with five speakers and a sub woofer. The speakers have long cables that at 10, 15, and 25 feet long so they are easy to place in various places around the room. I like how easy it is to play music using a regular SD card and/or an iPhone/Droid or tablet. Just plug the phone or tablet into the subwoofer and it plays. Same with the SD card. You control the music with the remote control so it is convenient to run from across the room. The speakers and the subwoofer all seem to be made well and the sound quality is great so far. The whole system looks good too.I received this complimentary system for review but all opinions are my own and I was not paid to write the review.
