it's OK...
By scopin4u2
well...this item is OK but not the greatest. The HDMI (which is an input on the unit) doesn't really work well. I tried 2 units...this is the second one I've had...the other one I sent back... and it didn't work on EITHER to hook it up to the original TV i had, which was a Panasonic Viera 3d going thru the ARC HDMI. and Panasonic SWORE to me that the ARC is an output. and I know that the HDMI on the TV worked cos I had it going to the DVD player originally before switching it to the Pyle soundbar unit. so I had to hook it analog thru my DVD player and it worked. it's not a very advanced unit as you would expect. it's all just about analog and absolutely NOTHING Digital. in fact, i had a plan of taking an optical out cable from the TV, with a 3.5 mm on the other end, and hook it up to the soundbar, but called Pyle first to ask about it....and they said it's not going to work. so can that idea! but I didn't see any of this in the specs when I was looking it up before I bought it. the sound is OK. it's not the greatest as I expected judging from the price I paid for it. it takes FOREVER to come up and go down with the power on and off. it's not spontaneous. in fact, when you turn it on, I was wondering WHY i wasn't hearing anything from it. i had to cycle thru the inputs a couple of times in order to hear anything coming from the unit. the stereo worked pretty good on the first unit, but for some reason on this second unit it's not clear and i'm getting a bunch of static. i don't know why. the antenna is in the same position as the first unit i had. The range on the remote control REALLY SUCKS! I MEAN REALLY! you have to almost point the thing right in front of the unit for it to work and that's after fighting with it from all angles. and i know for a fact that it's NOT my batteries dying. I didn't put their cheap batteries in there. I put Energizer 8x Lithiums in there.so don't waste your money. get something else. there must be something better out there.

Was better that the stock TV speakers

Does have a good quality sound BUT wasn't exactly what I was wanted. Gave it to my daughter and she loves it.

Sounds like a hissy-fit in the making to me...
By H. Seiden
A sound bar should produce high quality sound. That would be the main reason for having one. This unit has an added hiss present on any input (not counting the FM tuner) and at any volume setting (0-45). The support technician I spoke with said he thinks there is a defect in the unit (power supply), however shipping inbound is not free (it weighs 15# and is big to ship). Repair time is significant. There is NO SPECIFICATION on what the noise should be with the volume up or down. They do not sell parts. The sensitivity is low and amplifier noise is high given the output produced. Sensitivity rating is 400mV to drive it to produce 300W (don't know if that's peak or RMS) which means that a fairly high level input is needed so some devices headphone jacks or line audio would be maxed out. The input impedances are unknown, unspecified as is the noise (S/N) produced at full output. So I'm returning this unit to exchange for different brand if I can. Works, but with disappointing results. Functionality is questionable.Website has incomplete documentation and testing.[...]
