5Thing of beauty
By Toyz
I have a large master bedroom, needed a big TV to watch the late night football games and the occasional movie. Had to get a big size TV (atleast 80") for a room of this size. Did a lot of research and was pushing off the TV purchase because of the exorbitant cost of such a big TV. Started looking into projectors, looked at the optoma and a few other brands, was getting a few good reviews and some so so reviews. My friend who had come over mentioned that he had the Epson 3010 and he likes it.So decided to go to the local best buy and they had the later model 3020, read some reviews and pulled the trigger.Got it home, fired it up and Wow....Without any calibration we had 130" of awesomeness in our bedroom.Got a 120" fixed screen and now project it up there, we are both blown away by this. At a fraction of the cost we have a home theater in our bedroom. Way better than any TV at the size/cost.After getting comfortable with this, I swapped this for the 3020e wireless model and love it. The IRIS noise was a little distraction, turned it off and enjoy it now. Also love that it has the built in speakers which are not bad at all. Considering getting a nice sound bar to complement this now.Wife happy/ Me happy.....

5Very good projector, but consider saving $500 with the non-wireless version.
By S. Power
This projector is lacking when compared to others on the market, but when you take its price into consideration, it is a great value. This is true whether you compare it to high-performance video projectors or to larger screen displays that are big enough to be a feasible replacement (70", 84", or larger). This projector is simple to use, looks great, does 3D very well, and costs considerably less than comparable displays or other projectors that perform as well.3D. I didn't expect to use the 3D much or at all, but we were so impressed when we tried it out, that we have already used it several times. It works much better with actual 3D content, then when you try to convert from 2D, but in both use cases it was fun and impressive. The glasses are pretty comfortable, and were much simpler to set up than many of the other types out there.Brightness. This projector is rated at 2300 lumens, but seems brighter than that. It is bright enough to look great projected on a white wall with about 6.5 feet from corner to corner, diagonal, as long as the room is dark. Despite being bright enough in a dark room, it does get washed out once you introduce any light to the room. This isn't an issue for us, since we only use the projector for dedicated viewing. It might be an issue if you're planning on using it in a venue that has to have ambient light.Clarity. This projector really is 1080P. After years of viewing HD content on LCD screens, I my expectations were low in this area. I expected a lot more pixilation with this (or any) projector than you have on a display. That simply isn't the case. Once focused, this projector is as crisp and clear as any other HD video.Sound. I only used the speakers in this projector for a few minutes, just to test them out. They sound fine, but we quickly switched over to our Dolby 5.1 surround sound system.Runs cool and quiet. From my past experiences with projectors, I was worried that this was going to seem like a blow dryer running in the middle of our TV room. It isn't. It is relatively cool and quiet.Wireless HDMI. This review is based on this exact same projector, but without the wireless HDMI. The model number of that one is V11H501020, and it is $500 cheaper than this one. Wireless HDMI is a $500 option, which is comparable to how much wireless HDMI currently costs. For us, the convenience of wireless HDMI was not worth the cost, since our projector is ceiling mounted and the HDMI cable only cost about $40, but there are plenty of use cases where the 32 feet of wireless range would be very useful.I highly recommend this projector or the cheaper (non-wireless version), but only if you are going to use it in a room where there isn't much ambient light.

5A Thing of Beauty
By Score Event
This projector is a thing of beauty. I replaced my old DLP projector with this and the first thing I noticed was how much bigger and heavier it is when compared to my older 720p unit. I was initially worried whether or not my self installed ceiling bracket would support it. It was very difficult to do by myself but I managed to get it installed in the ceiling mount by myself. I strongly suggest getting help if you plan on a ceiling mount of this projector. I does have speakers in it, which, my old unit did not have, but that does not account for all the weight, it is just a more substantial and obviously well constructed piece of electronics. The speakers by the way really surprised me and I have found myself electing them over my thundering sound system for many movies. At first I did not think I would be impressed by the 3D function. I did not have any 3D disc yet so I ran out and get the animated movie "UP" for my first 3D disc. The unit comes with to sets of glasses, both which were charged and ready for use. It also came with a short HDMI cable, which I had to replace with a much longer one in order mount on the ceiling. I found out that the HDMI cable I used for the old unit would not work and I had to run out again and pick up another long HDMI cable rated for HD 3D. It was worth all the effort once I got the movie started and realized that 3D was really much better than I expected. Even if 3D is not your thing this projector really displays a fantastic and bright picture and a 1020p HD picture that alone makes it worth the purchase. Even during the daytime with a fair amount of ambient light it is very acceptable, whereas my old projector was not. If you are looking for a great projector for your home theater this is a good one.
