Love It!!
By haggs
Multi-source, multi-zone functionality is awesome. I am using this receiver to power my living room as well as my screen porch & outside deck. It's great that the kids can be inside watching TV while I'm outside enjoying a cold one, listening to some music being Airplayed & controlled from my phone on the outside zone. I have seen some people complain about the Denon Remote App, but my experience with both the remote app & the Apple Airplay functionality has been great.Once I get tired of the Airplay, I can switch over to Pandora or another source, all just by taking my phone out of my pocket. The remote app gives me the capability to turn zones on & off, switch sources, control volume, etc. It's pretty slick!

DENON Excellent AVR
By BeyondHD
Last year Denon's AVR 1912 and 3312ci received excellent reviews from some of the most respected web sites in home theater entertainment. Fast foward to 2012, this seems to be the year of 4K, 3D, Air Play, more power per channel and other cool features built-in on home theater receivers. I got my Denon AVR 3313ci for my family room and let me tell you, the Denon legacy continues. It has all major digital decoding formats, better GUI than last year, easy to use remote control and the power of 125w x 7ch at 0.05% of THD. Now specs aside, this AVR is one powerful performer for both movies and music, but before we get into that there are some minor drawbacks you should know; This receiver lacks wi-fi and bluetooth which I found inexcusable for a receiver at this price. Other competitors like the new Sony STR-DN1030 are incorporating these great features for a unit half the price. While the remote control is very good, is not fully backlit. The GUI display is easy to navigate and is far better than those found on Onkyo receivers, but this is one area that still need some improvement. I'm surprised that Denon decided not to include Audyssey MultEQ XT32 which is such a turn off, the Onkyo TX-NR818 has Audyssey XT32, DTS Neo X and is THX Select 2 Plus certified, and right now is $200 less. Another thing that capture my attention was that if you change your speaker settings after the Audyssey set up you will not be able to activate or select Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, but to me this is a limitation of MultEQ XT and its something that doesn't happens on some models like the Onkyo TXNR818.Just for reference, my Denon 3313ci is connected to a pair of DefTech StudioMonitors 65, cs8060 center channel, SR8080BP, SM45 for the height channels, Supercube 6000 Subwoofer, OPPO BD Player, Monster PowerCenter 3500.Movie Performance:I own an intense catalog of Blu Ray movies that can be used as reference for audio and video, Battleship is a tour de force surround sound film. The AVR3313ci reproduced the DTS Master-HD track with ultra clean sound and powerful authority. From the first battle scene inside the forcefield the Denon 3313ci was capable to transport the action like it was live. The fire canons from the Mississippi battleship were spectacularly loud and bombastic in the film final confrontation. The rear effects were amazingly discreet and precise. I rarely use PL IIz or DSX for some movies but this time was an excellent decision, the AVR3313ci height channels sounded incredibly aggressive and with amazing depth.Music Performance:Listening to Chuck Mangione's Live At The Hollywood Bowl CD was a overwhelming experience. The Denon processed all the tracks with elegant sound, great tone balance and excellent separation of the instruments, specially James Bradley drums, Grant Geissman's guitar, Vadala's flute and of course Chuck's flugelhorn, all of them sounded superb. The detail that capture the AVR3313ci is beautifully amazing. In conclusion, the Denon 3313ci is an excellent and powerful AVR, it does has some misses like Audyssey XT32 but it has Denon's trademark sound with purity, detail and style.

Small Foot Print; Monster A/V Performance!!!!
By Faisal Saleem
I swapped my Onkyo TX-NR809 with Denon AVR-3313. Before Onkyo, I was using Yamaha RX-V3900 and I just wasn't satisfied with the power output of Yamaha. My speakers are Klipsch (RF-82 II, RC-62 II, RS-52 II, SUB-12, and a DIY subwoofer as mid-bass module). Now over to the Denon AVR-3313; it is my first ever Denon and I'm all sold on it and a Denon fan forever.VIDEOThere is hardly any difference in video performance between Onkyo 809 and Denon 3313. Video chipset used on Denon is at par with that on Onkyo 809.AUDIOAudio is the main performance area where Denon 3313 will chew alive the 37lbs heftly Onkyo 809, though Denon only wieghs in at 26 lbs. I am in awe as to how much power this little monster is pumping out. The difference is not in the heavier power supply of Onkyo; it's rather in the discrete circuitry (HammerHead SHARC 192Khz/24 bit Audio DACs on all 7 channels) and shorter audio path between the pre and pro section in Denon 3313. They collectively reduce noise and reproduce sound with bare minimum distrotion. The result is outstanding audio reproduction both in movies and music. Denon offers surprisingly tremnedous amount of power, deeper and wider soundstange, fantastic and most accurate channel seperation, and really immersive sound for movies and music alike. The highs have weight and do not sound thin. It's sort of like you feel the guitar strings in your chest with each pluck of string.Make sure you run full 8 point Audyssey setup. My speakers are crossed at 80hz on avr. Also, remember your speakers can sound as good as they are. If you feed them bad recordings; they will sound terrbile. If you feed them good recordings, they will sound as good as they are. So, the trick is to process the source materail as accurately and as cleanly in the AVR as possible. I used same source material (FALC for music, and 1080p DTS/DD MKV files for movies) on Onkyo and Denon. Denon simply blows Onkyo outta the water. Denon has livened up my Klipsches to another level with no hint of distortion even beyond reference levels.Fantastic and most accurate sound reproduction both in movies and music ...... DENON fan forever.
