Good for what it is
By inahpydrm
I bought this V375 receiver because the features pretty much satisfied my wants. The BluRay DVD playback is great for the sound effects. I also liked the iphone playback features, but not overly impressed with the sound. You can control all of your music playback on the TV screen with the iphone. The receiver has an "enhanced" mode which is on by default during all except DVD playback. This seems fine for the TV but, I prefer it off (you can turn it off)for the iphone. It gives the iphone music a "hollow" sound especially in lower tones.Be aware that if you are upgrading from "home theater system" as I was, you may need to buy a powered subwoofer. Most HT systems power the subW. This av receiver, as like all I looked at, only supplies a preamp feed. This means a powered subW must be added. All said, I am enjoying this receiver and would recommend it to my friends.

Know what you need before you buy
By Ava Brooks
this was perfect for what i needed it for, Yamaha has a whole line of these receivers ranging from $249 to $900 to decide whats the best option for you just take a look at amazons description "Which Yamaha RX-V Series Receiver is Right for You?" its very clear states all the features so you can figure out what works best for you (Yamaha also has an amazing COMPARE feature on their site if you want to compare just 2 or 3 model)I went with the RX-V475 because I needed a Network Port and i also wanted the Internet Radio option - i just understand why some small features takes the price form 400-900 it seems a bit unfair too me.
