Samsung HW-D450 AudioBar Home Theater System
Product Description
The picture quality of today's HDTVs may be fantastic. But frankly, the sound can be about as flat as the panel. Samsung's HW-D450's dynamic, full-bodied sound will dance pirouettes around your TV's tiny speakers. This sound bar uses built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoding along with virtual surround sound processing to create a wraparound effect that draws you into the action. You'll love the way it brings the soundtracks of DVDs, Blu-ray movies and high-def TV shows to life. You won't even need a receiver or amplifier - this sound bar has built-in amplification to power its six drivers for clear dialogue and spacious, lifelike effects.

Excellent all the way around
By B. E. theisen
I did a lot of research into sound bar systems in the $100-$300 price range. I have never written a review before, but felt that too many reviewers were marking this item down because of remote compatibility. I have a Harmony One, and it worked flawlessly. The sound is great, and it's a very sleek, nice looking system. Sound quality is well above average and you can customize the sound to suite what your watching (sports, movie, games...) I got a great deal on this system at a local retailer, and if you have the opportunity to grab this on sale I would take full advantage of it.

Good Product
By Andrew C
This product has great sound and I found it at a GREAT price on Amazon.com. I was told by a local retailer (Best Buy) that it did not come with a Toslink Audio cable. When the sound bar arrived, I of course find out that the cable was included. I called Amazon.com customer support to see if returning the cable I bought with the sound bar would be worth it after shipping and such, because the cable only cost about $5. After restocking fees and shipping, it wouldn't be worth it to return, but Amazon CREDITED MY ACCOUNT the cost of the cable anyways! It was a pleasure to deal with Amazon when purchasing this item and several others. I never take the time to write reviews but Amazon was so awesome to deal with, I had to review; not only to say it was such a great product, but that Amazon is a pleasure to buy from and I will never resort to using local retailers like Best Buy, but will stick with what works, and that's Amazon!

Pleased, Except for Remote Control Issue!
By Titandude
After researching for a TV soundbar (after finding that my new TV had horrible built-in sound), I decided on the HW-D450.Hooking up the system went flawless and was a fairly easy process. Once I turned it on for the first time, I realized that the wireless bass unit needed to be turned up all the way. (+6) It sounds OK, but I was hoping for a little more punch at lower sound levels. My disappointment came when I realized that the unit can't be controlled from a universal remote. I am STUCK using the remote that came with the unit for volume. Instead of one remote, now I must have two separate remotes! (Unless I want to get my lazy butt out of the comfortable couch and physical change the volume on the soundbar itself like grandpa used to do!)I called support and was given the bad news that my programmable remote would be useless. The only possibilities were using the supplied remote or hooking the HW-D450 to a TV through Anynet+. I'm hoping that Samsung comes out with a software upgrade in the future that will allow it to be controlled from a programable remote. What were the geniuses at Samsung thinking?
