BIC America HT8W 8-Inch 3-Way Acoustech Series In-Wall Speakers
Product Description
HT-8W in-wall speakers were specifically developed to exceed the demands of in-wall speakers. They incorporate pivoting 1-inch titanium tweeters that are center-mounted in their massive magnet 8-inch woofers. Their tweeters offer highs beyond audible range. For assistance in reproducing mids (lost in many other in-wall speakers), the HT-8W also include dual .5-inch poly midranges. Self resetting thermal cut-offs protect them from over-load. Metal mounting brackets are included for post-construction. Optional M-8R rough-in-kits are available for pre-construction. Ideal for use with all surround and music formats.

Awesome Speakers
By KAPIL PARKHI
I recently purchased the BIC America HT8W In-Wall speakers after researching a lot of speakers. I had floorstanding speakers on my 1st floor living room but wanted something which will go in the wall as I have a 21 month old son and the in-wall look much better visually in the living room. I purchased one set of HT8W (note that when you order, one box has 2 speakers in it) and installed them as surround speakers. I was so happy with them that I turned around and purchased 2 additional speakers and installed them as the front speakers in my living room. My living room is 17feet by 20 feet with 9 feet ceilings and these speakers fill the room with beautiful sound. Their tweeters are amazing and can be pointed towards the listening position. The woofer inside the speaker gives out decent bass but you will need a subwoofer to provide adequate bass. I have a polk PSW505 subwoofer and it matches well with these speakers. Overall I am really happy. I love to listen to music and I am hearing sounds which I have never heard before. I have not installed a in-wall center speaker because I am using an existing infinity PC350 center.Installing them in the wall was easy. I had one place where there were 2 studs which were about 7 inches apart and I got some contractor and he was able to install the speaker by mounting the screws into the 2 studs instead of using the wall bracket which comes with the speaker. For the other 3 speakers, I was able to easily mount the speakers with the bracket provided. You will need about 30 - 45 minutes per speaker for mounting if you are doing this for the first time. These speakers should work great for movies too.. I have not watched a movie yet with the new speakers but I will update the review after watching a couple of movies.I am amazed that the price of these speakers is so low. These speakers can be easily compared with some of the speakers which cost at $500 or more per set. Try these out, you will love them. I have tried a different variety of Polk audio RTI, LSI7, Infinity and Bic Venturi speakers and am aware of how budget speakers sound. This is my first time in trying out In-Wall speakers and the sound from these speakers compares well with the floorstanding speakers. My wife is also happy with the BIC America HT8W In-Wall and that makes a big difference...

Blew my expectations out of the water!
By TopGear6699
Some people say that Acoustech, or Bic-America in general was trying copy Klipsch with their Acoustech line of speakers. I saw these when I was looking for some in ceiling speakers for a small bathroom. They were priced FANTASTICALLY, and I decided for that price, I might as well try them out (2 come in 1 box). I got these promptly and decided to hook them up to an Onkyo Receiver before cutting holes in the sheetrock. Within 10 seconds of hearing them, I decided to put them in the ceiling. These give my last generation Polk Audio towers a run for a smooth, punchy sound. They are a little bit bright, but the overall sound is great. I may not be an audiophile, because if I was, I also wouldn't be looking at in-wall/ceiling speakers. I do consider myself someone who appreciates a good sounding system, and I would gladly use these for surround or front's in a 5.1 or 7.1 system. These may be made in china, but they feel EXTREMELY solid. The driver, at 8" doesn't rattle your bones, but is plenty in a small to medium sized room. If put in a home theater, obviously they'd need a sub or two. The material is a metallic, heavy, piece of graphite composite. The midrange, is well secured, and you can adjust the directionality of it. The tweeter didn't feel super solid, but then again, very few are, and for good reason. I have the wiring going through an attic to a closet, where there is an Airport connected to a 110W Onkyo Receiver, so I can Airplay from Spotify over Wi-Fi. If you crank the volume up on these things, they don't even break a sweat. The only part of these that I don't like is that the instructions and mounting system are a bit confusing. If you're somewhat mechanical and intuitive, you shouldn't have an issue figuring it out. All-in-all, I love these things and am looking forward to being a customer of Acoustech for years to come. It's a better built Klipsch or Polk, for half the price and I'm not just saying that, I usually prefer more well-known brands, but if any of their speakers sound as good as this, they have my purchase. Oh, and they have a 7 year warranty! That's better then the warranty in the house that they are in and the warranty on most cars.

Great sound
By Burger
We are currently in the middle of remodeling our kitchen and living room. As part of that process, I'm replacing some floor standing speakers with in-wall. I settled on these for the front speakers because I've had BIC Ventura speakers in the past and have always been happy with their sound. In this case, it is more of the same. These speakers pack a good punch for their price. So far, they've handled everything I've thrown at them. My only complaint is that it is too loud in the room on the other side of the wall where these are installed. I've currently got some acoustic foam shipping to me to put behind these to try to limit that.I don't think you are going to find a speaker with better performance for the price than you do with BIC's speakers. That goes for pretty much any speaker in their line of products.
